Workforce Investment Solutions partners with businesses to meet the workforce needs of Macon and DeWitt Counties. By assisting employers in determining their current hiring needs and workforce shortages, we can help provide training and assistance to fill the need for a qualified workforce. Some of the programs and services offered to employers include: Pre-Employment Testing and Assessment, On-The-Job Training Incentives and Incumbent Worker Training which provides reimbursements for training of existing employees. The Decatur/Macon County Economic Development Corp (EDC) is a non-profit organization focused on attracting, expanding and retaining businesses in Decatur and Macon County. Providing access to resources for GIS mapping, workforce studies, demographic research, site selection and employee training. They also administer incentives such as the Enterprise Zone and various tax exemptions that can assist businesses to be successful and cost competitive.

Richland Community College offers business and corporate training in a variety of areas. Richland’s employer/business services include: AHA Authorized Training Center for CPR, AED, First Aid, ACLS, BLS, PALS, and Blood borne Pathogens; OSHA Safety Training Programs; and, Workplace Simulations (confined space, lock out/tag out, etc.). Richland also offers Customized Training in specific skills for Business, Industry & Organizations and Commercial Driver’s License Training (CDL) as well as facility rental for business and industry training.
